JEE Main 2018: Application Form, Exam Dates, Eligibility, Exam Pattern
JEE Main 2018 is the popular engineering entrance exam in India. It will be conducted by CBSE for admission to B.E./B.Tech & B.Arch courses. On the basis of JEE Main, candidates are admitted to NITs, CFTIs and other engineering institutions. JEE Main is also the eligibility test for JEE Advanced which offers admission to IITs & ISM.  From the year 2017, CBSE has introduced some new changes like applicants should have Aadhaar card issued by UIDAI for filling the application form. All candidates interested in pursuing a career in engineering can apply for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). Students can get complete information about JEE Main 2018 such as application form, eligibility, exam dates, exam pattern and syllabus.

JEE Main New Changes Introduced Last year:
In 2017, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has introduced some new changes in the pattern of JEE Mains. Here are the highlights:
  1. No weightage will be given to 12th class marks for calculating All India Rank (AIR) in JEE Main.
  2. In order to qualify for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, candidates must have at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST) in higher secondary examination or must be in top 20 percentile in class 12th examination conducted by respective boards.
  3. Moreover, candidates should have Aadhaar Card Number to fill the application form.
  4. Candidates from Meghalaya, J & K and Assam are excluded from this provision. Such candidates have to enter passport number, ration card number, bank account number or any other valid Govt. identity number to get examination centre in these states only.

JEE Main Application Form 2018
All the aspirants must read the information brochure carefully before filling the online application form of JEE Main 2018 to get details about how to apply, application fee & payment mode. The details regarding JEE Main application form are given below:
  1. Candidates have to fill the JEE Main application form via online mode only.
  2. No printed copy will be provided to apply for JEE Main.
  3. Applications are expected to be released in the first week of December 2017.
  4. To apply for JEE Main, students should have Aadhaar Number/Aadhaar Enrollment Number/Registration Number which will be provided by facilitation center.
  5. In addition to filling personal & academic details, candidates also have to upload scanned images of photograph and signature in prescribed specifications.
  6. Candidates can download the acknowledgement page as the proof of successful submission of application form.

 

Application Fee:

Application fee of JEE Mains 2018 will depend upon the gender of candidate, category and exam mode. Candidates can check the application fee from the below table:

  1. Payment of fee can be done either through credit card/debit card or e-challan.
  2. Candidates opting e-challan are required to make the payment in Syndicate/ICICI/HDFC/Canara Bank in cash.

 

JEE Main Application Form Correction

  1. Corrections will be permitted in uploaded images (signature and photograph).
  2. Correction window will also open for correction in application form details like change in exam mode from PBT to CBT, city of examination, change in paper-2 to paper-1.
  3. Candidate can make changes only in the selected fields.

 

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility for appearing JEE Main 2018 is given below:

 

Age Criteria:

  1. Date of Birth: Candidates those born on or after 1st October 1993 are eligible for writing the JEE Main examination.
  2. Relaxation: 5 years relaxation shall be provided in the upper age limit of SC/ST & PWD candidates (i.e. DOB falls on or after 1st October 1988).
  3. Date of Birth will be considered as mentioned in secondary education board certificate.

 

Qualification Criteria:

  1. Qualifying Exam: It is must for the candidates to pass the 12th examination/qualifying examination with 5 subjects to be eligible for JEE Main 2018.
  2. Subjects: The qualifying examination must be passed/appearing with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects.
  3. No Minimum Marks: There is no minimum marks requirement in 12th examination for writing the JEE Main exam. However, candidates have to secure the passing marks.
  4. Passing Year: Those who have appeared and passed the higher secondary examination in 2016 and 2017 are also eligible to apply. Moreover, candidates appearing the final examination of 12th in 2018 can also fill the JEE Main application form.
  5. In case if candidate appeared the 12th examination in 2015 but not passed in 2015, passed in 2016 are also not eligible.
  6. Diploma Holders: Diploma holders may also apply for JEE Main 2018 but only eligible for admission to IITs. In other words, Diploma holders will be eligible for JEE Main so that they can further apply for JEE Advanced but not eligible for admission on the basis of JEE Main scores.

JEE MAIN 2017: Facility for correction in their data will be operational on the website from 25/01/2017 to 03/02/2017. (जेईई मेन २०१७ फॉर्म मध्ये २५/०१/२०१७ ते ०३/०२/२०१७ पर्यंत गरज असेल तर त्रुटी/अपूर्ण फॉर्म मधील बदल करू शकता.)

It is brought to the notice of all the aspirant and registered candidates of IIT-JEE MAIN 2017 that the facility for correction in their data will be operational on the website from 25/01/2017 to 03/02/2017. All the registered candidates for the said examination are advised to visit the website and verify their particulars. They are further advised to make correction in their particulars, if any particular is filled wrong/incomplete/flawed, in the particulars available in their registration form. The change of mode from computer based (offline) examination to pen and paper based (offline) examination is not allowed, The candidates are advised to make the corrections, if any, latest by 03/02/2017. Thereafter, no correction in particulars, whatsoever, will be entertained by the JEE Unit under any circumstances. The additional fee (If applicable) should be paid by the candidates either through credit/debit card/e-wallet (SBI buddy/paytm) or through e-challan generated during the online correction by cash in the Syndicate/Canara /ICICI/HDFC Bank during 25/01/2017 to 04/02/2017. Since, it is one time facility, extended to the candidates to avoid any hardship to them, therefore, the candidates are informed to do the correction very carefully because no further chance of correction will be given to the candidates for whatsoever reason.

JEE (Main) For admission to NITs, Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) like IIITs etc. and other participating Institutions, the merit/rank list shall be prepared based on weightage to school Boards marks in class 12th or equivalent examination and weightage to JEE(Main).

The JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to
take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs/ISM Dhanbad.

APPLICATION FORM: The online application process will start from 1st Week of December, 2016 onwards.
The last date for application will possibly last week of December, 2016.

DETAILS OF EXAMINATION: JEE (Main) 2016 shall have two papers, Paper-1 (B.E. / B. Tech.) and Paper-2(B. Arch./ B.Planning). Depending upon on the course (s) candidates are seeking admission, may take Paper-1 B.E. / B. Tech.), or Paper-2 B. Arch./ B. Planning), or both.

The five subjects will be taken into account for calculation of percentile and normalization of

4- Any one of (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject),
5- Any other subject.
Note: If a candidate has appeared in six subjects in the qualifying examination, the subject (fifth
or sixth) with better marks will be considered.

Eligibility for Admission to NITs, IIITs and Other Institutions participating through SEAT ALLOCATION BOARD:
B.E/B.TECH: Possibly Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subject. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in each of the subjects.

B.ARCH./B.PLANNING: Mathematics subject along with 50% marks in total including five subjects.

  4. JEE Main 2018 exam will be conducted on April 8 in offline mode while the computer based test (CBT) will be conducted on April 15 and 16, 2018. CBSE will release JEE Main admit card tentatively in the second week of March 2018.

  6. CBSE will publish JEE Main official answer keys on April 24. The last date to challenge the JEE Main 2018 answer key is April 27. Apart from this leading coaching institutes will also release JEE Main answer key after the offline exam concludes on April 8.

  7. The JEE Main Results will be published for all candidates in the form of a JEE Main 2018 scorecard. The score card will be available on the official website of JEE Main. The link to download your score card will be provided here as soon as it is released.
    The JEE Main Result 2018, will be tentatively declared in the last week of May. Joint Entrance Examination Main is one of the biggest and most challenging engineering entrance examinations.

  8. NTA will release the JEE Main 2019 admit card for April session on March 20 in online mode only. To download JEE Main admit card 2019, candidates will have to log-in into their account by entering application number and password/date of birth.

  9. National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the result of JEE Main April 2019 attempt on April 30 for Paper 1 while Paper 2 result will be declared on May 15. Candidates will be able to check their scores via JEE Main result 2019 by logging in using their application number and date of birth or password.
